Joseph Aridán is considered to be one of the most outstanding and promising young Tenors in Israel today, both on the concert stages and in the Israeli Opera.
Born in Israel, 1975, Began his formal musical training under the guidance of Mrs. Agnes Massini at the Samuel Rubin Music Academy - University of Tel-Aviv, where he made his operatic debut as David in C.Nielsen's Saul and David, and graduated Cum Laude in 2001. since 1997 he has received various musical scholarships, including the Tel-Aviv Music Academy Scholarship, the America-Israel Cultural Fund scholarship and the Yehosha Rabinovitch Fund for Arts. Since 2007 he recieved the "Sidonia Berkowitz" Scholarship and the Grabov Scholarship of the New Israeli Opera. In May 2001 he also won the first prize in the Israeli Music Academy Voice Competition, University of Tel-Aviv. After his studies for in T.A University, continued his voice studies with Maestro Nicola Tagger in Milan and Maestro John Horton Murray in Mannheim.
Mr. Aridán often performs in operatic projects and concerts accompanied by various Israeli orchestras, including the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra IBA, the Haifa Symphonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra, The Herzlya Chamber Orchestra and the Ra'anana Symphonic Orchestra. In June 2000 he made his debut at the New Israeli Opera in Tel-Aviv, as Taher, in the world premier of the modern Israeli opera Dear Son of Mine; Since then preformed in the New Israeli Opera Tel-Aviv as Nemorino in “Elisir d’amore”, Don Ramiro in “La Cenerentola”, Alessandro in “Il re pasteore”, Don Basilio in "Le Nozze di Figaro", Pong in "Turandot" and Goro in "Madama Butterfly". In January 2001 he also made his debut with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, singing Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. Since then performed with the Israeli Philharmonic also as Altuom in Turandot, under Maestro Zubin Mehta. Participated in recordings of operas and sacred works for Television and Radio, including the A.Dvo?ak Requiem with the Jerusalem Symphonic orc. IBA, under Maestro L.Botstein.
Mr. Aridán has also performed in opera and oratorio productions around Europe : In Germany performed as 'Amor' in Palazzo dell'Amore by E.Schoener at the 'Sommer Musik Akademie - Hundisburg , and sang solo Tenor in J.Dorfman's cantata "Dass sie leben", in it's World Premiere in Sankt Mattähus Kirche Am Kulturforum Berlin, and also in Singen. Performed as soloist and recorded with the Berlin radio choir RIAS Kammerchor and with Ensemble Hohenzellernplaz Berlin. In London - UK sang solo Tenor in Puccini's Messa di Gloria at St. Paul's Church - Covent Garden, and also in Gunoud's Messa Solenelle, at the Llangollen International Music Festival in Wales; Participated and performed in the Musica Riva Festival - Riva del Garda - Italy, and Attended Master Classes given by the tenor Veriano Luchetti and by the soprano Katia Ricciarelli.
